Germ Factory

The little bugger.

There he sat, smiling like a cherub, hands neatly folded in his lap. He gave out a little cherubic cough and went back to smiling.

If he were an actual cherub, he'd be an incredibly hot one. Running a temperature of 102.

And, if the custodians of Heaven were smart, they'd have banished that little cherub to his room, or perhaps to Florida, to avoid him infecting the rest of Heaven with his little germs.

Then again, even if they were smart, they may not have been able to resist the cherubic charms of the fevered one, and pretty soon everyone in the whole place would be laid up with a cold, sniffling and spluttering away.

These are the pitfalls of keeping cherubs, I suppose. And when my own nose felt that familiar tickle down to the back of my throat, I knew that I'd been had, as well. Which is when he chose to crawl into the room, wiggling and waggling like the top dog in town.

And he gave out a little, tiny cough.

disclaimer:

Ah, the holiday season.

Time for laughing. Time for joking. Time for egg nog and colds. And scarves and jelly.

And fires and firesides, television and sneakers. Gloves, harbinger, and tomato are also words I think of, when I think of the holiday season.

Right now, though, the delightful scent of VapoRub (tm) wafts over cinnamon and beans, and it's about that time to get to bed.

Next week, we may be late, or early. Or nonexistent. We'll see. And you too, I suppose, if you like.

Liked it.
Didn't like it.
Would have liked more references to bats.
I'd rather be boiled in vinegar.

Also, we'd like your take on the now missing Summary Feature (email subscribers can still access the summary for the current week's issue only and you can sign up here). How do you feel about the (now gone) summary feature on each issue?
I miss it.
Didn't use it.
What summary, you mean I can get away with reading less?
Don't miss it at all.
