Zebus of the World Unite!
So I'd never heard of a zebu.
But they had seen one, earlier in the day.
"Nearly killed us!" she said.
The little one just stayed silent. He smiled, like he knew something.
"Nearly killed you?"
"Well. Nearly."
"How? Did it charge? What is a zebu, anyway?"
The little one pointed at the ground and grunted.
"Well, you'd think it was like a zebra..."
"Is it?"
"Well, not really. It's like a horse. With a hump. Wait, not a horse. A cow."
This time he really pointed at the ground and grunted.
"How did it nearly kill you?" I eyed the little guy warily. He pointed at me once, then at the ground again. I shrugged, because it seemed like I had to do something. This only set him off, pointing at the ground repeatedly.
"Well, it looked like it was going to charge, and at first, I thought it was a cow... only it had this hump... and well, it turned out it was just turning to eat some more grass. Did you know they can survive off the food in the hump for years?"
The little guy had somehow managed to get down and was now offering the two of us some weeds he'd just picked.
